About
Writing and running around my four children is what I seem to do most days. I also try to fit in a bit of proper road-running around my bit of London, which keeps me sane. I’m a journalist for newspapers and magazines, I’ve written a couple of books and as an ex-BBC reporter I can turn my hand to most areas of broadcasting, ranging from TV documentaries to cultural reports, although live shows are my favourite. I’ll admit to doing the occasional reality show. And travel. My latest book Bonnes Vacances! is an account of how not to take your family around the French speaking world. Mr Millard made the TV documentaries. The children provided the sarcasm. Nobody learned any French. Our next hilarious idea is to take the Trans-Mongolian express to Beijing. The hope is everyone will come back speaking Mandarin. I now know this is a vain ambition.

Rosie at Home
I’ve been Arts Correspondent for BBC News, Arts Editor of the New Statesman, a theatre critic, a design columnist and a property guru. I’ve written for most of the nationals and a few magazines, including the FT Magazine, for whom I went camping with 40,000 Scouts in Sweden. In 2011 I was kicked off a reality show. My first book, The Tastemakers, is an account of why Britain fell in love with Damien Hirst and his friends.
I’m a graduate of Hull University, the London College of Communication and the Courtauld Institute, but before all that, I had a Glee-style education at an American High School. I’ve run a couple of marathons. Next year I’m going to attempt one along the Great Wall of China. If I had my way, I’d live permanently in Paris.
Radio Features
Radio documentaries I’ve done for Radio 4 include one about why London has all the skyscrapers and Paris has none, plus one about technology during the Blitz. I’m an expert on the Non-Doms, or people who live in the UK but who don’t pay as much tax as everyone else. I am not a Non-Dom. I’ve done a lot of ‘Presenter’s Friend’ spots. I feel like I am Tony Livesey’s Best Friend (or at least, one of them), on Five Live. I’m also quite Friendly with Jeremy Vine on Radio Two, especially when he’s discussing issues around parenting (love it) or speeding (hate it). I can occasionally be heard on the Today programme, and frequently on the Breakfast show on Radio London.
Telly
Shows I boast about being on; Newsnight, Sky Arts, Sky News, The Morning Show, that sort of thing. Croissants in the Jungle, a series of six documentaries I presented from France’s overseas domains are still going out on The Travel Channel. Chatting, reviewing papers, opining on live TV is something I love. Being the first to get kicked off Celebrity Five Go To…on Channel 4 wasn’t quite so wonderful. Although it was quite memorable.
